Our Opening Hours (April - October): 12-3pm Weekends Only

The Red Rose Café Opens on Good Friday. We’re so looking forward to sharing this with you!

With great joy, we’re opening the doors of The Red Rose Café at Les Contes on Good Friday (3rd April) between the hours of 12-3pm and we can’t wait to welcome you.

Set within a place of living waters, Mary Magdalene Chapel, animals, Johan's gardens, and ancient land, Les Contes has always been about relationships: between people, place, all life and the quiet beauty of everyday life. The café grows naturally out of that spirit.

The Rose has long been a symbol of love shared, nourishment offered, and beauty made practical. The Red Rose, especially, speaks of life fully embraced, earthy, generous, and meant to be enjoyed together.

Each weekend, the Red Rose Café will offer a three-course lunch, lovingly prepared with organic, locally sourced ingredients, following the rhythm of the seasons. Our menu will be vegetarian and vegan, changing weekly in response to what the land, gardens, and local growers bring forth.

I’ll be curating the menus myself, alongside our wonderful new chef, Yoan Coat, a very handsome French cook with a deep respect for ingredients, a joyful relationship with food, and a gift for turning simplicity into something truly delicious. Cooking with Yoan feels collaborative, grounded, and full of heart.

Above all, the Red Rose Café is about pleasure without excess, care without fuss, and the simple happiness of sitting down to a well-made meal.

Come for the food. Stay for the warmth. Leave nourished in mind, body and spirit.

Meet Our Chef: Yoan Coat

We’re very happy to introduce Yoan Coat, the chef joining us at The Red Rose Café at Les Contes.

Yoan is French through and through, not just in technique, but in spirit. His cooking is rooted, intuitive, and attentive, guided by respect for ingredients rather than showmanship. He has a natural feel for flavour, balance, and simplicity, and a way of letting food speak for itself.

What we love most about cooking with Yoan is his immense joy in the kitchen. He works with care, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for seasonal produce transforming what’s local and organic into meals that feel both nourishing and generous.

Yoan brings warmth, laughter, play, skill, and an easy presence to the table, and we’re delighted to welcome him into this next chapter at Les Contes.

You’ll taste his care in every course!
